Welcome to Building Up,

where I’ll explore the secrets to achieving success and share valuable insights from my journey.

So far in my young budding career, I have worked in sales/retail, started and closed a small family business, and now work a finance job assisting the public. I obtained my Bachelors in Business Administration (BBA) specializing in Small business and entrepreneurship in 2023. I am currently considering pursuing a Masters degree in this field soon, as well as learning French to pursue my professional goals further. I am a passionate 24-year-old Englishman living in Canada, navigating the business world in my own way…which brings me to why I created this platform!

I want to share what I’ve learned so you don’t have to feel as lost or uncertain as I did at the beginning of my journey. Whether you’re tackling your first big financial decision, figuring out career shifts, or just trying to navigate the maze of adulthood, I’m here to offer the insights I’ve gathered.

After finishing my degree and closing my business, I felt the need to work towards something more. I realized that I wasn’t truly meeting my full potential and wasn’t utilizing the knowledge I’d gained through school and life experiences. That’s what led me here: to share my growth journey with you. Through this platform, I hope to expand my knowledge and skills as a young professional while helping others along the way—because honestly, it sounds much more fulfilling than just putting numbers in a spreadsheet!

For this newsletter, I’ll share the challenges and solutions I’ve encountered—from applying to universities and navigating a student loan application on my own to figuring out my career path and purchasing my first home at 23 (I’ll show you how I made this happen, and you can too!).

I’ve achieved all of the successes I’ve experienced without any financial guidance, and I quickly realized that without my family’s support in navigating the big, wide world, I had to figure everything out for myself. There wasn’t a “best answer” I could find online at the time, and a lot of things felt confusing and overwhelming.

That’s why I’m here—to make things easier for those of you around my age or younger. I want to help you avoid feeling as stuck as I did, and show you that you’re not alone in learning how to tackle challenges like doing taxes for the first time, choosing the right bank, or navigating life’s big decisions.

As I continue to share my journey, I hope to offer valuable insights that will help you navigate your own path to success. Together, we can learn, grow, and overcome challenges—many of which you might be surprised to know others have encountered too.
